Uh, oh.... That's not good. However it happened, it sure looks muddy, but it also looks like there is NO CROP.... So what is he doing?! Something similar happened to my Papa. He was heading down the highway, on his way to the next field, and the parking brake came on, for no reason at all! He came to quite the sudden halt, as the combine took a nose dive into the highway and smashed the header against the pavement. It did quite a lot of damage to the header, but Papa was unhurt, thanks to his seatbelt. The combine it's self was mostly unharmed as well. But this one has tracks. Metal tracks. So he can't go too fast, as the combine wouldn't be able to take it. So a parking brake is out of the question. Wind is also overruled, as the combine is much too heavy.

  Oops.... Looks like this guy was hauling a couple silage bales (which are a lot heavier than straw bales) and tried to slow down. He then flopped it on it's nose. It would be easy to get it back on it's wheels, but I guess this guy just bailed (pardon the pun) and didn't try to self-right. An easy way to prevent this is to have a counter-weight on the rear, or even another bail claw or more bail spikes, so that you could attach bails on the back, therefore being perfectly balanced. But I bet that felt interesting when it went over! Most farmers don't wear their seat belts, so I bet he ate the steering wheel for lunch that day. But I learned my lesson pretty quickly. When I was in the grain cart (it was being pulled by a CAT Challenger), it shifted down a speed as we neared the combine, and I darn near went through the windshield! Since then, I've worn my seatbelt in the farm equipment a lot more.

There's a Volkswagen for you. Folded around the pole like papier-mâché. No one could make it out of that alive. The entire safety zone is crumpled. The frame is kinked off in many places. The steering wheel is out the passenger side window. The body/bodies is/are likely beyond recovery.
